Write down why you traded, then check whether it held up.
Memory is kind to your past trades. A journal is not. Tradune records each trade with your thesis, the outcome and how you felt going in, then shows which tags and states your results actually cluster around. Next to it, a rule checker tests your own written rules against your portfolio, and a thesis tracker keeps the reason you own each stock in writing.
You remember the wins
Most investors can name their best trades and have a vague sense that the bad ones were bad luck. Without a written record of the reasoning and the state of mind at the time, there is no way to tell a repeatable process from a streak — or to notice that most losses started with the same feeling.
A journal entry per trade, with how you felt
Each entry holds the symbol, action, price and quantity, your thesis, the outcome and the outcome P&L, three sliders for FOMO, fear and confidence, and free tags. A “needs review” filter separates open entries from reviewed ones. Once at least one trade is closed, win rate and average P&L appear per tag, and the psychology view sets emotion scores against outcomes.
A rule checker for your own rules
Write rules as field, operator and threshold, and check them live against your portfolio or any symbol. Three starter templates are included: “Graham Value” (low P/E, low price-to-book, healthy liquidity, low leverage), “Quality Compounder” (strong ROE, fat margins, growing revenue, low leverage) and “Dividend Safety” (meaningful yield, profitable, low leverage). The result states the fundamentals date, the price date and the check time separately, and shows debt-to-equity as a true ratio.
Theses that get re-read
Write the thesis for each symbol, with the chart, analyst view and news available while you draft. A weekday job at 09:30 ET re-checks your theses. The alert accuracy ledger in the Weekly Review closes the loop on the alerts you set, so every part of your process leaves a record you can look back at.

Frequently asked
What goes into a journal entry?
The trade itself (symbol, action, price, quantity), your thesis, the outcome and its P&L, FOMO, fear and confidence sliders, and any tags you want. Entries stay “needs review” until you mark them reviewed.
What does the psychology view show?
How your emotion scores line up against outcomes, and win rate and average P&L per tag once you have closed at least one trade. It describes your own record; with only a few trades, any pattern is weak evidence.
How does the rule checker work?
You write rules as a field, an operator and a threshold — for example, debt-to-equity below a level — and Tradune checks them live against your portfolio or any symbol, stating separately how current the fundamentals and the price are.
Are the starter templates recommended strategies?
No. They are examples of how a rule set can be written, loosely named after familiar investing styles. Passing a rule set says a stock matches the criteria you chose, not that it is a good investment.
Is this advice?
No. The journal, rule checker and thesis tracker record and test your own process. Tradune never tells you to buy or sell.
