Your portfolio has a twin. It only buys the S&P 500.
Every time you add money, Tradune models the same amount, on the same day going into SPY — a hypothetical twin, no real trades. The twin never picks a stock, so the gap shows how your choices did against simply holding the index.

Your broker says you’re up +12.8%. Did your picks earn it?
A total return counts every dollar of growth as yours, including what the market would have handed you anyway. Drag the line to see the same account the way Tradune reads it.
The twin copies your cash, never your picks.
Move a deposit and the twin moves with it. Same amount, same week, all in SPY — so the gap reflects what you held.

What is Tradune?
Tradune is a web-based portfolio analytics app for self-directed US investors who pick their own stocks. You enter your trades by hand or import the positions file your broker exports; it never connects to your brokerage account or asks for your login. From those records it computes cost basis (FIFO, LIFO or average cost), realized and unrealized profit and loss, and your money-weighted return (XIRR). It then replays the same cash flows, on the same dates, into SPY with dividends reinvested, so you can see whether your own holdings did better or worse than simply buying the index. Around that answer sit a multi-factor stock screener, risk measures such as value at risk, beta and maximum drawdown, price and technical alerts sent to Telegram, and insider-trading signals read from SEC Form 4 filings on EDGAR. Tradune is an independent project, not a registered investment adviser: what it shows is educational information, not advice.

No brokerage login, ever
You import a CSV — we never ask for account credentials, never sell your data and never trade on it.
The method is published
Money-weighted return (XIRR), not a naive start-to-end average, against a SPY twin funded on your own contribution dates.

Common questions
Anything else? Write to [email protected].
Is Tradune financial advice?
No. Tradune is an educational analytics tool. Everything it shows is impersonal information to help you do your own research — it never tells you to buy or sell a specific security.
Where does the data come from?
Market data and fundamentals come via third-party providers; insider filings come from public sources like SEC EDGAR. We show information; we don’t resell raw feeds.
Do you need my brokerage login?
No, and we never will. There is no account linking: you enter positions by hand or import a CSV your broker exports. That also means a breach on our side cannot reach your brokerage account, because we hold no credentials to it.
What happens when paid plans launch?
Everyone with a Tradune account or on the product-updates list hears from us before anything changes, and no charge starts without you choosing it. The Free plan stays free; its limits are listed on the pricing page, so you can see today what stays free later.
What makes Tradune different?
Most trackers tell you what your portfolio is worth. Tradune tells you whether picking your own stocks beat simply buying the index — your money-weighted return against a buy-and-hold SPY twin funded on your exact dates, with the method published. Screening, risk analytics, SEC insider signals and tax-loss harvesting are built around that answer.
Meet your twin.
Add your trades and see in one number whether your stock picking beat the S&P 500, with the same money on the same dates.
Everything is free for everyone right now — no card, no trial clock, nothing to buy. Paid plans aren’t live yet; when they arrive the Free plan stays free, and we’ll email everyone with a Tradune account or on the product-updates list before anything becomes paid.
