Find out how much of your money is really in each stock.
Own an S&P 500 fund, a Nasdaq-100 fund and a few mega-cap stocks directly, and you may hold the same companies three times. Tradune compares any two ETFs for overlap and looks through the funds you hold to show your real exposure to each underlying stock.
Several funds can be one bet
Fund names suggest variety. Holdings often say otherwise: broad US index funds share many of their largest positions, and those same names are often what investors also buy directly. The overlap is invisible on a list of tickers and only shows up when the funds are opened and added together.
Pairwise ETF overlap
Pick any two ETFs and see how many holdings they share and the overlap percentage, calculated from constituent weights rather than a simple count of names.
Portfolio X-Ray: look through your funds
X-Ray combines the ETFs you hold with the shares you own directly — those sit in a DIRECT bucket — into your true per-stock exposure. It shows which underlying names appear in more than one fund and how much of your money is in each; the list of shared holdings expands to show all of them. If you hold no ETFs, it says so instead of drawing an empty chart.
Index and ETF holdings browser
Browse an index to see its members, or an ETF to see its holdings. Constituent data is refreshed weekly, so the look-through reflects recent fund composition rather than a one-off snapshot.

- Overlap computed from constituent weights

Frequently asked
What is ETF overlap?
The share of one fund’s holdings that also appear in another, weighted by how much each fund holds of them. High overlap means two funds give you much of the same exposure.
What does Portfolio X-Ray add?
It looks through every ETF you hold, adds the shares you own directly, and totals your exposure to each underlying company — so a stock you own directly and through two funds shows up as one combined figure.
How often is fund composition updated?
Index members and ETF holdings are refreshed weekly. Funds rebalance on their own schedules, so a very recent change may take up to a week to appear.
Is overlap always bad?
Not necessarily. Some overlap is expected when funds track related indexes. The point is to know how concentrated you actually are, so any concentration is something you chose.
Is this advice?
No. It describes what your funds hold. It does not recommend buying, selling or switching any fund.
